-The SparkFun Pulse Oximeter and Heart Rate Sensor is an I2C-based biometric sensor, using two chips from Maxim Integrated: MAX32664 Biometric Sensor Hub and MAX30101 Pulse Oximetry and Heart Rate Module.
-The MAX30101 does sensing using photoplethysmography and passes data to the MAX32664 for algorithmic analysis to determine heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2).
-The board is small, measuring 1in x 0.5in, and has a Qwiic connector for easy I2C connection, but two additional lines need to be connected.
-The MAX32664 handles algorithmic calculations, digital filtering, pressure/position compensation, advanced R-wave detection, and automatic gain control.
-An Arduino library is available to adjust all possible configurations and make it easy to use the sensor.
